About
The Author
Mark Clark
is a member of the Presbyterian Church of Novato, in Marin County, California. In addition to
leading the drama ministry for the past five years, he is also active in the church’s youth
ministry.
Mark’s
theatrical background is extensive, going back to 1978, when
he studied theatre at the College of Marin, appearing in over
a dozen plays. He attended the Drama Studio of London, after which he appeared in
many San Francisco Bay Area productions, including shows at the
Berkeley Repertory Theater and Asian American Theater. He moved
to Los Angeles in 1984 to act in theatre, film, and television,
where he appeared in such shows as “9 to 5” and “Hard
Copy.”
Returning
to Marin, Mark taught theater at the College
of Marin while obtaining
a Masters in Drama from San Francisco State University. Immediately
after receiving that school’s award for Outstanding Graduate
Student Achievement in Theatre, he took over the drama department
at West Hills Community College.
Finally settling in the Bay Area
to raise a family, Mark continues to direct and act in shows and
has even founded his own non-profit company, Theatre at Large,
which presents plays in non-traditional spaces and donates a portion
of the proceeds to charity.
Mark lives in Novato with his
wife, Pat, and daughter, Jessica. He enjoys cooking, bicycling,
skiing, playing the congas, and traveling.
